1)India to work with China on OPEC’s Asian Premium issue:- India is coordinating with China and other Asian countries to raise voice against Asian premium charged by Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

 Since 2015,INDIA has made repeated demands to the IEF countries to remove what is called the “Asian premium” on prices that was pioneered by Saudi Arabia, which distinguished consumers in Asia from the U.S. and European countries.

For Example if OPEC Countries are Producing 1 Barrel of Oil at Rs.100 , they will charge Rs.120 in Asian Countries and Rs. 90 for Western Countries. The discriminatory Asian Premium is mainly used by OPEC countries to subsidised western buyers at cost of Asian buyers.

2)USFDA approves world’s first contact lens that automatically darkens when exposed to bright light :-The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved use of Acuvue Oasys Contact Lenses with Transitions Light Intelligent Technology, world’s first contact lens that automatically darkens when exposed to bright light.

3)Pakistan successfully test fires enhanced version of Babur cruise missile:- ‘Babur Weapon System-1 (B)’ is a low-flying, terrain-hugging missile, which carries certain stealth features and is capable of carrying various types of warheads. It can deliver  conventional and non-conventional weapons with a range of 700 kilometres.

4)Ayushman Bharat Scheme: First health & wellness  centre inaugrated in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.

5)Government launches Gram Swaraj Abhiyan:- The Union Government launched “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan- Special Interventions”, an high-intensity outreach programme to deliver welfare schemes to deliver welfare schemes to select villages which need particular attention.

6)US adds India to the currency practices and macroeconomic policies monitoring/Watch list:- The US Department of Treasury has included India in the monitoring list of its major trading partners that merit close attention to their currency practices and macroeconomic policies.

The US Treasury Department report is required by Congress to identify countries that are trying to artificially manage value of their currency to gain trade advantage, for example by keeping exchange rate low to promote cheaper exports.

7)First regional conference of eastern states on Water Resources held in Kolkata:- The first regional conference of eastern states on Water Resources was held in Kolkata, West Bengal in bid to address outstanding water resources issues. It was conveyed by Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

8)World Bank fillip for natural resources of Meghalaya :- The World Bank signed a $48 million loan agreement for revitalising natural resources in Meghalaya through a communityled landscape approach.

The Meghalaya Communityled Landscapes Management Project is designed to support the State’s three tribal communities – Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia – in managing its forests and natural resources through customary laws.

9)All five accused walk free in Mecca Masjid blast case:-It was a blast inside the historic Mecca Masjid in the Old City of Hyderabad.
NIA court acquits Swami Aseemanand, others for lack of evidence.The Mecca Masjid blast occurred on May 18, 2007.


10)The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is an inter-governmental organisation and the implementing body for the Chemical Weapons Convention, which entered into force on 29 April 1997.

OPCW, with its 192 member states, has its seat in The Hague, Netherlands.

The organisation was awarded the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.
