A Little About OSCAR AWARDS/ ACADEMY AWARDS :- The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, are a set of 24 awards for artistic and technical merit in the American film industry, given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Academy's voting membership.
The awards, were first presented in 1929.
“The Shape of Water” wins best picture. After 13 nominations, it was the drama’s fourth win.
Frances McDormand wins best actress for “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”.
Gary Oldman wins best actor in a leading role for “Darkest Hour”
Guillermo del Toro wins best director for “The Shape of Water.
Jordan Peele makes history with “Get Out” original screenplay win. Peele is the first African American to win this award.
