1)Skill India partners with Ministry of Power for implementation of Saubhagya Scheme:- The Ministry of Power has partnered with Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to train the manpower in six states for speedy implementation of its Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojna (Saubhagya Scheme). 

These six states are Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh.

ABOUT SAUBHAGYA SCHEME : -Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojna (Saubhagya Scheme)

Objective: To achieve universal household electrification in all parts of the country.

The government will use Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data to identify beneficiaries for free electricity connections.

The Rural Electrification Corporation Limited under Ministry of Power is nodal agency for the operationalisation of the scheme throughout the country.

2)Atal Innovation Mission ink SOI with SAP Global to foster innovation:- NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has signed Statement of Intent (SOI) with German tech company SAP to promote culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across 100 Atal Tinkering Labs across India.

3)Department of Posts launches Cool EMS Service between India and Japan:- It is one-way service from Japan to India which allows customers in India to import Japanese food items for personal use which is allowed under Indian regulations.

The Cool EMS Service came into force from March 2018.

Initially, it will be available in Delhi only. Food items will be carried by Japan Post in special cool boxes containing refrigerant to preserve quality of food items.



4)India’s first insect museum opened in Tamil Nadu:- India’s first insect museum with state-of-the-art amenities was unveiled at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University campus in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

5)Atomic Clock Issue in NavIC :- Atomic clock of IRNSS-1A has become non-functional, but the satellite is being used for providing messaging services like disaster alerts, potential fishing zones information dissemination to fishermen, etc.

About NavIC:- The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) with an operational name of NAVIC is an autonomous regional satellite navigation system, that provides accurate real-time positioning and timing services.

It covers India and a region extending 1,500 km (930 mi) around it.

Now What will be done :- A navigation satellite, IRNSS-1I is scheduled for launch using PSLV launch vehicle in April 2018.



6)Survey on Higher Education:- To portray the status of higher education in the country, Ministry of Human Resource Development has started an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) with the objectives of strengthening official statistical system to produce Education Statistics periodically.

The first survey was conducted in the year 2011 for the survey year 2010-11.
Since then the survey is continuously being conducted annually by the Ministry through web based portal  www.aishe-gov.in

The survey covers all the Institutions in the country engaged in imparting of higher education.

Data is being collected on several parameters such as teachers, student enrolment, number of programmes, examination results, and infrastructure. Indicators of educational development such as Institution Density, Gross Enrolment Ratio, Pupil Teacher Ratio, Gender Parity Index etc.

7)Facts About ‘National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP):- The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has informed that under the Scheme ‘National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), 10% of the total allocation of funds is earmarked to be used for the supply of drinking water to Scheduled Tribe (ST) dominated habitations.

Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of  55770  fully covered tribal habitations with the safe drinking water in the country followed by Odisha 52427 ,Jharkhand 53476 numbers of  habitations.
