1)Krem Puri: World’s longest sandstone cave discovered in Meghalaya:- The world’s longest sandstone cave named Krem Puri was discovered near Laitsohum village in Mawsynram area in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.

It was discovered in 2016 but its actual length was found during expedition to measure and map it by Meghalaya Adventurers’ Association (MAA).

Krem Puri underground cavern is more than 6,000 metres longer than world record-holder Cueva Del Saman in Edo Zulia, Venezuela.

2)ISRO–BHEL tie up for Production of Space Grade Lithium-Ion Cells:- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has entered into Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to transfer technology for manufacturing space grade Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) cells.
The technology transfer will enable BHEL to produce space grade Li-Ion cells which can meet country’s space programme requirements.

3)NAIPUNYA RATHAM: Andhra Pradesh Government launches World on Wheels:- Andhra Pradesh Government launched multi-utility vehicle NAIPUNYA RATHAM or World on Wheels to bring technology to remote corners.

4)Canadian mathematician Robert P. Langlands wins Abel Prize 2018:- Abel Prize is awarded annually by Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters to one or more outstanding mathematicians. The award was established by Government.

6)MADHAVPUR MELA of Gujarat to have a grand four –day celebrations through its first ever cultural integration with the North-East under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

In a unique initiative, the famous Madhavpur Mela of Gujarat will see its first-ever cultural integration with the North-East with which it is said to share its roots.

The Madhavpur Mela of Gujarat shares its connect to the Mishmi Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh.

Tribe traces its ancestry to the legendary King Bhishmak and through him to his daughter Rukmini and Lord Krishna.

7)Damaged reefs turn butterflyfish intoa Flexible Eater:- In bleached coral reefs of Lakshdweep, these fish change their diets and eating patterns to adapt to reef damages caused by climate change.

Why Cora Bleaching :-

Climate change–induced ocean warming can cause coral bleaching, which stresses coral patches and makes them prone to death.

Also Due to Pollution (marine Pollution).

This can be catastrophic for exclusive coral eaters like melon butterflyfish. So in this case the Fish has changed its eating habits.

8)National Anti-TB Drug Resistance Survey report :-

Released by Union Health Ministry.

Background: Recently the he first ever survey of
drugresistant (DR) tuberculosis (TB) was conducted.

Findings:- India is home to 2.8 million TB patients, the largest in the world.

India is home to 2,666 cases of extensively drug resistant (XDR) TB.

One fourth of Indian TB patients are drug resistant.

9)What is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch:- It is the world’s largest collection of floating trash and perhaps the most famous.

An estimated 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic weighing 80,000 metric tons are currently afloat in this area which is located halfway between Hawaii and California and is the largest accumulation zone for ocean plastics on earth.




It is now said to be three times the size of continental France . The patch was discovered in 1997 by Charles Moore.
