1)Aadhaar link deadline extended indefinitely:-In relief for citizens, the Supreme Court indefinitely extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar with mobile phones and tatkal passports and for opening bank accounts from March 31, 2018, till the Constitution Bench, led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, pronounces its Final verdict on the validity of
the Aadhaar scheme.

Relief not applicable to benefits under section 7 of the ACT (The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016) .




What is Section 7 of the Aadhar Act : Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act says that the Centre and State governments can insist on Aadhaar “for the purpose of establishing identity of an individual as a condition for receipt of a subsidy, benefit or service for which the expenditure is incurred from the Consolidated Fund of India.”

2)SC shuts the door on foreign law firms :- Keeping India’s legal market exclusively for Indians, the Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that foreign law firms or foreign lawyers cannot practise law in the country either on the litigation or nonlitigation side but can “fly in and fly out lawyers to offer legal advice.

This means overseas lawyers or firms cannot open offices in the country, appear in courts or before any authority or render other legal services, such as giving opinions or drafting documents.

One Important Point was also there that they might not be debarred from conducting arbitration in India arising out of international commercial arbitration, but then they would be governed by the code of conduct applicable to the legal profession in India.

3)Difference between Meteoroid, Meteor and Meteorite :-

Meteoroid : A meteoroid  is a small rocky or metallic body in outer space (a form of debris). Meteoroids are significantly smaller than asteroids.

Meteor: Sometimes the Debris (meteoroid) enters the earths atmosphere but burns like a Flash of Light as it passes through the atmosphere and thus do not reach the surface, then such Flash of light is called Meteor. They are aka Shooting Stars.

Meteorite :- If any part of a meteoroid survives the fall through the atmosphere and lands on Earth, it is called a meteorite.

Now the News was : A study of two meteorites, which fell in Assam and Rajasthan over a span of 13 hours in 2017, by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has concluded that they may contain “significant clues to the origins of life.”

One Meteorite fell in Natun Balijan village in Tinsukia, Assam in the Flood Plains of Lohit River.

Another one fell in Mukundpura village under Sadiya subdivision near Jaipur.
