1) Yesterday we told about the Naval Exercise MILAN by Indian Navy in the Andaman and Nicobar Command.

Maldives has declined an invitation to join the MILAN series of multilateral exercises to be hosted by the Indian Navy in March .

The Maldives Ambassador clarified that it was due to the state of emergency in his country.

2)Revitalising Infrastructure and Systems in Education (RISE) Scheme was mentioned in the Budget speech of Finance Minister this year.

3)National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts at IIT Chennai :- The Ministry of Shipping and IIT Chennai have signed an MoU to set up National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC), at IIT Chennai.

4)UIDAI’s Blue Coloured New Aadhaar Card:- UIDAI has introduced a blue coloured ‘Baal Aadhaar’ card for children below the age of 5 years.

Blue coloured Aadhaar data does not include biometric information like fingerprints and iris scan. Once the child crosses the age of five, biometrics should be updated.

5)National Science Day 2018:- National Science Day (NSD)  is celebrated every year on 28 February.

NSD is celebrated on 28th February to commemorate discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led to Sir C.V. Raman winning the Noble Prize.

The theme of NSD-2018 is “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future”.

6)Aviation Multi Skill Development Centre at Chandigarh launched:- It is a CSR initiative of Airports Authority of India (AAI).

The Centre has been set up in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and is supported by the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) of India.
