1)This Friday, for the first time in 45 years, a Kashmiri feature film, shot and produced entirely in the Valley, will hit cinema halls outside Kashmir.

Name of the Movie is Kashmir Daily.

Kashmir Daily explores the themes of drug addiction and unemployment in Kashmir.

2)Railways, HRD and S&T Ministry ink MoU on Technology Mission for Indian Railways.

The MoU aims to facilitate co-financing of (TMIR) by investment sharing for identified railway projects for applied research.

The percentage division of the funding between the three ministries for Technology Mission for Indian Railways’ is
Ministry of Railways: 30% ,
Ministry of HRD: 25% and
Department of Science & Technology: 25%.

4)Health Ministry and Tata Memorial Centre launch first digital Online Oncology Tutorial.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched India’s first digital Online Oncology Tutorial Series designed by Tata Memorial Centre (a grant-in-aid cancer centre under Department of Atomic Energy, GOI).

It was launched under the Digital India initiative as part national program that will be rolled out across the country by Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) in collaboration with State Government.

Oncology literally means a branch of science that deals with tumours and cancers. The word “onco” means bulk/ mass/ tumor while “-logy” means study.

5) Jal Mahotsav:- India’s biggest water carnival through ‘Jal Mahotsav’ is organised every year in Hanuwantiya Island in Madhya Pradesh. The third such ‘Jal Mahotsav’ concluded this year on January 2.



6)26th World Book Fair:-The 26th edition of the annual book fair will be held in New Delhi.

Theme: ‘Environment and Climate Change’.

Guest of honour country: This year’s book fair will host European Union as the Guest of Honour Country.

Organizers: Organised by National Book Trust, in association with ITPO.

7)Iceland becomes first country to legalise equal pay:-A new law making it illegal to pay men more than women has taken effect in Iceland. The legislation makes Iceland the first country in the world to legalise equal pay between men and women.



Global Gender Gap Report is released by World Economic Forum.

8)US puts Pakistan on Special Watch List:- The US has placed Pakistan on a ‘Special Watch List’ for “severe violations” of religious freedom, making it the only country to be put under the newly-formed list.

As per the US, Pakistan was placed in this list because the country continues to harass its religious minorities, has state-sanctioned discrimination against groups such as the Ahmadis, and tolerates extra-judicial violence in the guise of opposing blasphemy.

9)US govt has unveiled a list of Countries of Particular Concern.

The list includes Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

 A country is labeled as a CPC after it engages in “systemic, ongoing, [and] egregious” violations of religious liberty. This declaration is in accordance with the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.



10)U.S. space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is all set to launch two missions to explore a little-understood area 60 miles (96 KM) above Earth’s surface. The missions are named GOLD and ICON.

GOLD and ICON will team up to explore the ionosphere, a boundary area between Earth and the space where particles have been cooked into a sea of electrically-charged electrons and ions by the Sun’s radiation.
