1)Kazakhstan is all set to open the world’s first Low Enriched Uranium Bank in Oskemen. The International Atomic Energy Agency launched the project in 2010.

The bank will serve as a source of last resort for low-enriched uranium when IAEA members are unable to either produce it or if it becomes unavailable on the international market for whatever reason.

Some Facts about IAEA:-
The IAEA is the world’s centre of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was set up as the world´s “Atoms for Peace” organization in 1957 within the United Nations family.

The IAEA Secretariat is headquartered at the Vienna International Centre in Vienna, Austria.

IAEA reports to both the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council.

The IAEA serves as an intergovernmental forum for scientific and technical cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear technology and nuclear power worldwide.

2)NITI Aayog launches Ease of Doing Business Report:- 

Let's Understand some of the Problems why Ease of Doing business is still not there in India :-


  • Stringent Labour Laws are the biggest problem for Labour Intensive Sectors. 
  • Firms are Facing difficulties in Contractualization (Contract Labours), Termination of Workers.
  • Environmental Clearances are still a challenge in India(not easy to get---> Delayed Work).
  • One Fact says in India it takes average of 118 days to start a business (Centre claims 1 week)


India's rank in WB's (World Bank) Ease of Doing Business Report was 130th.

3)Gobindobhog rice, a speciality from Burdwan district of West Bengal, has got the geographical indication (GI) status.

4)YUVA – a skill development programme :- An initiative by Delhi Police under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana was recently launched.

The ‘YUVA’ initiative by Delhi Police aims to connect with youth by upgrading their skill as per their competencies. It will help them to get a gainful employment under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna under the Ministry of Skill Development.

Delhi Police has tied up with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for providing mass job linked skill training for the selected youth.



5)Important Suggestion to Improve the Working of Lower Courts has been given by NIti AAYOG :- 

Establish a judicial performance index to help the high courts and its chief justices to keep track of the performance and process improvement at district courts and subordinate levels for reducing delay.

High priority should be given to court process automation and information and communication technology enablement for electronic court and case management.
