1)India to join new global foreign exchange committee:- 
India will soon get a seat on the Global Foreign Exchange Committee (GFXC), a newly-constituted forum of central bankers and experts working towards promotion of a robust and transparent forex market.

The Global Foreign Exchange Committee (GFXC) was established in May 2017 as a forum bringing together central banks and private sector participants with the aim to promote a robust, liquid, open, and appropriately transparent foreign exchange market in which a diverse set of participants, supported by resilient infrastructure, are able to confidently and effectively transact at competitive prices that reflect available information and in a manner that conforms to acceptable standards of behaviour.

The committee has been set up under the guidance of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

2)Karnataka Government has constituted a nine-member committee to study the possibility of designing a separate state flag and providing it a statutory standing. 

It will be headed by Principal Secretary, Department of Kannada and Culture. It shall submit report to the state Government after looking into required possibilities.

Jammu and Kashmir is only state having separate flag of its own due to special status granted by Article 370 of the Constitution.

3)The government has merged the urban development and housing and urban poverty alleviation ministries. Now this will be known as Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

Now there are nearly 51 ministries.

5)The World Population Day is observed across the world on July 11 to attention on the urgency and importance of population issue.

2017 theme: “Family Planning- Empowering People, Developing Nations”

The World Population Day was established by the then Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1989.

6)Okinoshima Island, Japan’s men-only island was declared as a UNESCO world heritage site. The island will be the 17th set of Japanese cultural assets to be granted this status and overall 21st in the list.

7)The Union Finance Ministry has launched Aaykar Setu, a new tax payer service module. The new e-initiative literally means taxpayer’s bridge and will be available in android phones.

It compiles various tax tools, dynamic updates, live chat facility and important links to various processes within the Income Tax Department (ITD) in a single module.
