4) Another Ransomware attack:- 

First we heard about the WANNACRY RANSOMWARE , now its turn for the NotPetya/Petya Ransomware.

How these ransomwares Work:- It is a malicious software that blocks access to computers and data until a sum of money is paid.

5)Govt. unveils new hydrocarbon policy:- The key point in the New Hydrocarbon Policy is the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP).

What is OALP:- Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) gives an option to a company looking for exploring hydrocarbons to select the exploration blocks on its own, without waiting for the formal bid round from the Government.

Under Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP), a bidder intending to explore hydrocarbons like oil and gas, coal bed methane, gas hydrate etc., may apply to the Government seeking exploration of any new block (not already covered by exploration).

The Government will examine the Expression of Interest and justification. If it is suitable for award, Govt. will call for competitive bids after obtaining necessary environmental and other clearances.

Second Important Point under the New Hydrocarbon Policy is :- “A single license to explore
all forms of hydrocarbons", now one do not need different licenses for different hydrocarbons that are explored in a mine.

Third is that there will be No oil cess which reduced the rates of royalty.

6)Launch of National Biopharma Mission :- The first ever Industry-Academia mission to accelerate biopharmaceutical development in India will be formally launched by the Cabinet Minister for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi on 30th June 2017.

The Mission to be implemented by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a Public Sector Undertaking of Department of Biotechnology will bring together expertise from national and international corridors to provide strategic guidance and direction.
