1)China suspends Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Nathu La pass.

The pilgrims, who were supposed to cross over to Tibet via the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim, had to return to Gangtok.

Why ?:- China has alleged that there has been an incursion by Indian Troops.




2)WHO for use of devices to test multiple diseases:- The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended a Single Device for Testing of multiple diseases like Hepatitis, HIV and TB.

Name of the device is :- GeneXpert



3)Kaushik Basu leads International Economic Association:- The Finance Ministry’s former Chief Economic Advisor Kaushik Basu has taken over as President of the International Economic Association (IEA).

Term :- 3 Years

The IEA was founded in 1950 as a Non-Governmental Organization, at the instigation of the Social Sciences Department of UNESCO.

Its aim from the beginning has been to promote personal contacts and mutual understanding among economists in different parts of the world through the organization of scientific meetings, through common research programs and by means of publications of an international character on problems of current importance.

4)The Election Commission of India has joined hands with Facebook to launch nationwide voter registration reminder aimed at reminding eligible Indian voters to register themselves on the electoral rolls.

As a part of the initiative, Facebook will activate a unique ‘Register Now’ button reminding all the eligible Indian users to enrol themselves as voters.

5)Odisha is set to become the first state in the country to open a blood bank for cattle. The proposal has received the nod from the National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP). It is now awaiting the approval from the state government.
