1)NASA is testing the effectiveness of a flexible solar array, the Roll-Out Solar Array, or ROSA, on space station for the very first time. ROSA is expected to one day power satellites and spacecraft.

About ROSA:- ROSA is an advanced, flexible solar array that rolls out like a tape measure.

The ROSA is very much flexible so that it can be adapted to different sizes including very large arrays.

ROSA is expected to provide power for a variety of future spacecraft and satellites. ROSA will be an asset for satellite radio and television, weather forecasting, GPS and other services used on the Earth.


2)June 21st is annually celebrated as International Yoga Day since the year 2015.
According to UN, this year Yoga Day’s theme is “Yoga for Health“.

3)China has unveiled world’s first train that runs on a virtual track making use of sensor technology instead of metal rails.

4)Larsen & Toubro has launched the first indigenously built Floating Dock (FDN-2) to repair Indian Navy ships at its Shipyard at Kattupalli, north of Chennai.

The floating shipyard would be handed over to the Indian Navy after conducting three to four months of trial.

How would it help:= The dock would enhance the technical repair infrastructure of the Navy for ships based at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as well as for visiting Naval ships.

5)The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) convention, BIO 2017 is being held in the San Diego Convention Centre, San Diego.

The BIO International Convention is hosted by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO).

The first BIO International Convention was held in 1993.

India is also taking part in the convention.


6)India Re-Nominates Dalveer Bhandari For Another Term As Judge At International Court of Justice.

International Court of Justice is aka the World Court and is the court of UN.
It's decisions are final and Binding on the members and there is no appeal.
HQ:- Hague , Netherlands.
It has 15 Judges.


7)Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, Pune has become the first recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for outstanding contribution to promotion and development of Yoga.

8)China has offered to make a dam (Diamer-Bhasha Dam) project on the Indus River that India objects to, a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have refused to touch because India objects to its location, which is in the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
