1)For the time being , ICJ has stayed the execution of Kulbhushan Jadhav on the Grounds that Consuar Access was not Provided  which fell under the Vienna Convention.

One Important thing to remember is that Ronny Abraham was the Presiding Judge(11 Judge Bench).

The Execution can not be done till the Final Verdict of ICJ.(This is what ICJ has told.) This is an interim order.

2)Victoria Memorial exhibits on Google Arts & Culture Project :- 

What is Google Arts & Culture Project :- It provides an online platform via which the public can access high-resolution images of artworks housed in the world’s leading museums.

3)NALSA was in News Today , Let's Learn About it:=

NALSA has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, to provide free legal services to weaker sections of society.

The aim is to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reasons of economic or other disabilities.

Important functions performed by NALSA:


  • NALSA organises Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes.
  • NALSA identifies specific categories of the marginalised and excluded groups and formulates various schemes for the implementation of preventive and strategic legal service programmes.
  • Services provided by the agency include free legal aid in civil and criminal matters for the poor and marginalised people who cannot afford the services of a lawyer in any court or tribunal.
  • Free legal services include provision of aid and advice to beneficiaries to access the benefits under the welfare statutes and schemes and to ensure access to justice in any other manner.


Constitutional Provision for Free Legal Aid:- 

Article 39A. Equal justice and free legal aid.—The State shall secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice, on a basis of equal opportunity, and shall, in particular, provide free legal aid, by suitable legislation or schemes or in any other way, to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities.

It is a DPSP.

This DPSP was added by the 42nd CAA of 1976.


4)AfDB (African Development Bank Group):-
Why in News:- It is the first time in the history of the AfDB Group that India would be hosting the Annual Meetings of the Bank.

AfDB has adopted a strategy called “High 5s”, which focuses on five major developmental priorities comprising agriculture, energy, industrialization, regional connectivity, and improved quality of life through access to social and economic opportunities.  The core theme of the event is “Transforming Agriculture for wealth creation in Africa.”

Facts about AfDB:- It is a multilateral development finance institution established to contribute to the economic development and social progress of African countries.

The AfDB Group has 80 member countries, comprising 54 regional member countries (RMC) and 26 non-regional member countries (NRMC).

India is a Non-Regional Member of the AfDB Group and is not a founding-member. India joined it in 1982.
So India is not a Founding member of AfDB.

  • The luxurious train, Tejas Express, will start running between Mumbai to Goa. “The coaches will have bio-vaccum toilets, water level indicators, tap sensors, and hand dryers.  Such facilities and features are the first of its kind in the Indian Railways."

  • Yellow-eyed penguins could be wiped out in 25 years: Researchers have predicted that New Zealand’s iconic Yellow-eyed penguins may go extinct within the next 25 years due to rising ocean temperatures and climate change.  It is classified as endangered by the IUCN.
