1)Indore is the most Swachh city, Gonda the dirtiest:- 

Swachh Survekshan-2017 Survey was released which ranks various cities of India in terms of cleanliness.

Rank 1 Goes toIndore in Madhya Pradesh
Then Bhopal also from Madhya Pradesh.

This time Mysuru is in No. 5.
In Swachha Sarvekshan - 2016 , Mysuru was the Cleanest City.

The survey, Swachh Survekshan-2017, was carried out by the Quality Council of India.



2)India’s first ‘village of books’ opens:-

Where :- village of Bhilar in Satara district, Maharashtra.

The Main aim of this idea was to Turn Bhilar into a top destination for Bibliophiles.
Bhilar boasts collection of over 15,000 rare books and old magazines in Marathi.

Bibliophile:- A person who collects or has a great love of books.

3)Yesterday(4th May,2017) was the  Tyagraja's 250th Birth Anniversary.

Who Was Tyagraja?:- was one of the greatest composers of Carnatic music or Indian classical music. He was a prolific composer and highly influential in the development of the classical music tradition. Tyagaraja composed thousands of devotional compositions, most in Telugu and in praise of Lord Rama.

Tyagaraja is most famous for his Pancharatna kritis (the five gems).

The trinity of Carnatic music:-

Muthuswami Dikshitar
Shyama Shastri 


4)Central Information Commission:- The Central Information Commission has been constituted with effect from 12-10-2005 under the Right to Information Act, 2005. The jurisdiction of the Commission extends over all Central Public Authorities.

It is not a Constitutional Body But a Statutory Body.
The Commission includes 1 Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) and not more than 10 Information Commissioners (IC) who are appointed by the President of India.

CIC shall be appointed for a term of 5 years from date on which he enters upon his office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.


5)eVIN Project of Health Ministry becomes global best practise in immunisation :- electronic vaccine intelligence network (eVIN) is an indigenously developed technology system in India that digitizes vaccine stocks and monitors the temperature of the cold chain through a smartphone application.

The innovative eVIN is presently being implemented  across twelve states in India. eVIN aims to support the Government of India’s Universal Immunization Programme by providing real-time information on vaccine stocks and flows, and storage temperatures across all cold chain points in these states.

The technological innovation is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
