Thakurani Jatra is a famous Biennial Festival that takes place in Berhampur in Odisha.

2)PM to inaugurate India's longest bridge in Assam on May 24.

This Bridge will be over the Brahmaputra River. The bridge will connect Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and is 9.15 kilometre long.

The Name of the Bridge is Dhola-Sadiya Bridge.

The “Joint doctrine of Indian armed forces” prepared by the Headquarters integrated Defence Staff.

4)Wikipedia launches news service:= Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales is launching a project aimed at reshaping the news media called WikiTribune.

WikiTribune will focus on  “evidence-based journalism”.

WikiTribune aims to tackle the epidemic of fake news and misinformation by using crowd-sourcing — or the broad online community of journalists and others as fact checkers.

5)NITI AAYOG Favours tacing Agricultural Income in the Draft 3 Year Action Plans :-

Background:=
NITI Aayog which was set up in December 2014 after abolishing the Planning Commission, will now come out with a 15-year vision document (Vision 2030) that is to be supplemented by a seven-year strategy and three-year action plans.

These 3 Year Action Plans are actually replacing the earlier 5 Year Plans of the Planning Commission.

Recently the Draft of 3 year action Plan was unveiled.

NITI Aayog has suggested that agriculture income be brought under the purview of personal Income Tax in a bid to curb tax evasion.

Reason:- Non-agricultural entities sometimes use the blanket relief to evade taxes.

At Present :- “All agricultural income is currently exempted from Income Tax regardless of its size".

6)Google unveils neural translation technology:-

Google Translate will use a new ‘neural machine translation technology’ to translate between English and nine widelyused Indian languages, including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati.
