1)Jaipur hospital launches project to help adults with cancer:=

Name of the Project : =“Freedom from Cancer” project"
‘Freedom from Cancer’ works to ensure patients in need have access to free chemotherapy, nursing facilities.
The emphasis is on “target therapy” through a drug called Imatinib, which is globally considered very effective.

The drug acts only on cancer cells, leaving other cells of the body unaffected with virtually no side effects.

2)Logistics pact with U.S. ‘almost done’:=

Background:= LEMOA was Signed on 29th August 2016 is an enabling agreement in India - US Defence cooperatiobn.


The other foundational agreements are the Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) and the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geospatial Information and Services Cooperation (BECA).

3)Gynaecologist Bhakti Yadav was on Thursday presented the Padma Shri award at her residence.

She is very Famously called "DOCTOR DIDI"

4)India - Sri Lanka Fisherman Issue:= 
Background of Issue The Palk Bay area has been used by both Indian and Sri Lankan fishermen for centuries.

2 Issues are Most Important to Know:-
i)There is an International Maritime Boundary Between India and Sri Lanka and knowingly or unknowingly, the International Maritime Boundary Line is violated, often resulting in arrests of Indian / Sri Lankan fishermen or shootouts.

ii)Use of Bottom Trawlers by Indian Fishermen Community.
In this method a large net with heavy weights is dragged across the seafloor, scooping up everything in its path.




5)Auctions may help private coal miners tap 100 million tonnes :=

This Time even Private Players have been allowed to participate in the Coal Mines Auction for commercial purpose and they will be able to bid.

CIL(Coal India Limited) gears up to compete with private competition for the first time since 1973.

History :=The Coal Mines (Nationalisation) Act, 1973 (CMN Act) is the primary legislation determining the eligibility for coal mining in India.
The CMN Act allows private Indian companies to mine coal only for captive use and not commercial use.

So Coal was Nationalised by this 1973 Act. But recently in 2015 , Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Bill, 2015 was passed by Parliament which allowed the Private Players to bid for Coal Auction for Commercial Purpose also.

6) Today is National Civil Services Day 21st April .
    Theme is Making New India

Why 21st April Civil Services Day ?:- This day coincides with the date on which Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel had addressed the first batch of probationers at the All India Administrative Service Training School at Metcalfe House, New Delhi in 1947.
