1)Prime Minister Modi has decided to stop the VIP Privilege of Showing Red and Blue Lights in the Administrative and Political vehicle :=

What was the Rule :- Central and State governments can nominate dignitaries who could use Red/Blue lights.

Now What has Happened:= The Above mentioned Power of Central/State Govt. is Taken/Stripped of.

States are also being stripped of their power to specify persons whose vehicles can use blue flashing lights.

What are the changes:= 

  • Only emergency services vehicles such as ambulances, fire engine trucks, and police vehicles will be allowed to use blue lights. 
  • Red lights will not be permitted on any vehicle. 
  • Private vehicles will not be allowed to use either red or blue lights.



2)PHFI loses FCRA licence for lobbying:=
What is PHFI:- It is a NGO named Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), and it is the country’s largest public health advocacy group.

FCRA is Foreign Contribution (regulation) Act, 2010 which monitors and regulated the Funding mechanism ,regulations of NGO's getting foreign donations.

FCRA is under Ministry of Home Affairs.

So Why PHFI Loses FCRA Licence:- The NGO has been barred from receiving foreign funds on the ground, among others, that it used foreign contributions to lobby parliamentarians, the media and the government on tobacco control issues, which “is prohibited under the FCRA.”

So With Foreign Funds , You can not Lobby under FCRA.

3)Close industries near Bellandur Lake: NGT--->
Banning the dumping of municipal solid waste around Bellandur Lake, Bengaluru, the National Green Tribunal on Wednesday directed the immediate and complete shutdown of all industries around the water body.

Due to Toxic Released from the Industries and due to dumping of Solid waste there was continuous frothing and Foaming in the river in february there was also a fire near the lake.



4)Modi to launch UN Vesak Day in Sri Lanka:=

What is Vesak Day :-  also known as Buddha Purnima and Buddha Day.

It commemorates the Birth, enlightenment (Buddhahood), and death (Parinirvāna)(and his final 'passing' into Nirvana)  of Gautama Buddha in the Theravada or southern tradition.

5)One Part Woman bags Sahitya Akademi award:=
The English translation of writer Perumal Murugan’s novel Mathorubhagan (One Part Woman) has won the Sahitya Akademi’s award for translation in English.

The title describes Lord Shiva in his avatar as a combination of man and woman. (ArdhNarishwar)


6)Scientists in U.S. develop irst detailed global Internet atlas:=

It includes a detailed map of the Internet’s physical structure in India, and may help guard the infrastucture from terrorism or extreme weather.

7)India develops National Action Plan to combat Antimicrobial Resistance := Govt. has came out with  a blueprint againt AMR.

What is AMR:=Antimicrobial resistance occurs when microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change in ways that render the medications used to cure the infections they cause ineffective.

When the microorganisms become resistant to most antimicrobials they are often referred to as “superbugs”.
