1)The First Step in the initiation of Extradition Process of Vijay Mallya Completed, as he was arrested yesterday but later released on bail.

India and U.K have extradition treaty from 1993.
Only one person till today has been extradited since 1993 and he is Vinubhai Patel.

What is Extradition Treaty := Bilateral, and usually reciprocal, treaty between sovereign states which (upon request) provides for the surrender of person(s) accused of a crime under the laws of the requesting state.

Extradition may be barred for offenses other than those punishable in the surrendering state, and (commonly) its courts must be convinced that a prima facie criminal case exists.


2)A New View of Google Earth / a revamped application  was unveiled.
What is the New Feature in this Google Earth := The re-imagined version has a ‘Voyager’ feature, which enables people digitally exploring the planet to be guided on interactive stories told by experts.

3)MP Govt. has started a Flagship Scheme := Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana under which MP govt will gift smartphones to newly married women.The move is aimed at encouraging women to undertake cashless transactions using smartphones.

4)Marathi ilms on their way to Cannes, again:- 3 Marati Movies have been chosen by the Maharashtra Govt. to go to cannes film Festival.
 
‘Dashakriya’, ‘Cycle’ and ‘Take Care Good Night’ to be shown at the biggest Film market in the world.

About The Cannes Festival, named until 2002 as the International Film Festival and known in English as the Cannes Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France. It was Founded in 1946.
It is the biggest Film market in the world.

5)Court exempts some categories of persons with disabilities from its earlier Order in which it said it will be compulsory to stand for the National Anthem Before the movies start.

The Exempted Categories are := Wheelchair users, those with autism, persons suffering from cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, leprosy cured, muscular dystrophy and deaf and blind.


6)'Common duct policy’ soon:= 
What is CDP:- The Centre is likely to soon come out with a new policy under which a common duct will be laid across a city and service providers such as telcos and digital TV players can lease these ducts to pass their fibre through it to offer services to consumers.

7)Buzz over photograph of ‘Indian wolf ’ in Sunderbans(West Bengal):=
About Indian Wolf:- The Indian wolf is a Schedule I animal in the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 of India.
As Per IUCN it is ENdangered.
However one Important Point to remember that : Sunderbans did not have the habitat to sustain wolves.

8)Power Purchase Agreement for Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Project signed:=

Madhya Pradesh government has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to supply 24% of electricity generated from the Rewa ultra mega solar project to be set up in the state.

About the RUMS project:=
Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMS) project is a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India and MP Urja Vikas Nigam, where in both parties have 50% stake.

When completed, it will be the world’s largest single­site solar power project.

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the lead transaction advisor for this project that will mobilise USD 550 million in private investment and avoid a million tonnes of GHG (Greenhouse gas) emissions.
