1)PM launches BHIM-Aadhaar application:= The biometric-based indigenous payment solution will enable real-time bank-tobank money transfers even for those without a phone and at no additional cost.
This app can work even on a Rs 1,000-1,500 phone, you don’t need a smartphone.
BHIM-Aadhaar, also known as Aadhaar Pay. 
The platform allows merchants to accept payments from customers who will authenticate transactions from their Aadhaarlinked bank accounts with fingerprint verification.

Close to 30 banks, including the country’s biggest have adopted BHIM-Aadhaar. They include State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

4)‘E-waybill must for goods worth ₹50,000’ := Moving goods worth more than ₹50,000 under GST will require prior online registration of the consignment and securing an ‘e-waybill’ that tax officials can inspect any time during transit to check tax evasion.

GSTN will generate e-waybills valid for 1-15 days, depending on the distance.

5)Hijacked Indian dhow ‘Al-Kausar’ released:= 

Background:- Indian registered dhow ‘Al-Kausar’ was hijacked off the island of Socotra on 01 Apr 17. The vessel was taken to the port of Hobyo, on the eastern coast of Somalia and the 10 crew members were captured and held by pirates.
Now it has been Recovered and Released.



****Important Note:= Remember the Name of the Ship and also the Port of Hobyo on east coast of Somalia.

6)Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) crosses the target of Rs. 1.8 lakh crore for 2016-17 .

About PMMY:- The scheme’s objective is to refinance collateral-free loans given by the lenders to small borrowers.
The scheme, which has a corpus of Rs 20,000 crore, can lend between Rs 50,000 and Rs 10 lakh to small entrepreneurs.

3 Categories of Loans:=

i. Shishu: covering loans up to Rs 50,000
ii. Kishor: covering loans above Rs 50,000 and up to Rs. 5 lakh
iii. Tarun: covering loans above Rs 5 lakh and up to Rs. 10 lakh

7)Operation Meghdoot:= It was launched in 1984, when Pakistan started permitting mountaineering expeditions into Siachen Glacier because of which India had to keep a close watch on Siachen.

The operation was launched to capture the Siachen Glacier in the Jammu and Kashmir. The military action resulted in gaining control over the world’s highest battlefield.

8)The Vice President of India, delivered the first Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah Memorial Lecture in an university of Hyderabad.

Who was Quli Qutub Shah:=Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah was the fifth sultan of the Qutb Shahi dynasty of Golkonda and founded the city of Hyderabad
