1)‘Banning online pre-natal sex determination content dangerous’:-

What the Supreme Court Said:- The Supreme Court observed that a general prohibition on all online content about pre-natal sex determination will curtail the fundamental right to know of a genuine information- seeker who is driven by curiosity.

Important Points Made :- Article 19(1)(a) contains the Right to Know.

Court Observed that Yes PreNatal Sex Determination is offence but having a Blanket Ban on all the online information about it will curtail the right to know.

2)Satyzilla has been in news now for a Month because of the Fraud case of its Co-Founder.

WHat is Homestay:- When You go to a vaccation then instead of staying in a hotel room , you stay in the Home of a Local Resident of that City.


3)Indian Coast Guard rescued Pak. patrol and saved 2 Pak Securitymen:=
What is Indian Coast Guard:- The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) protects India's maritime interests and enforces maritime law, with jurisdiction over the territorial waters of India(12 Nautical Miles), including its contiguous zone(24 Nautical Miles) and exclusive economic zone(200 Nautical Miles).

The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18 August 1978 by the Coast Guard Act, 1978 of the Parliament of India as an independent Armed force of India. It operates under the Ministry of Defence.

5)About Blue Revolution (PIB) := The Blue Revolution is being implemented to achieve economic prosperity of fishermen and fish farmers and to contribute towards food and nutritional security through optimum utilization of water resources for fisheries development in a sustainable manner, keeping in view the bio-security and environmental concerns.

6)"Making New India” will be the theme for Civil Services Day, 2017 scheduled to be held on 20th and 21st of this month in New Delhi.

Civil Services Day is Celebrated Every Year on 21st April.

7)Haldia Port Tops the List in The First Ever Ranking of Ports on Sanitation Parameters:-

Background:- For the first time ever, the major ports under the Ministry of Shipping have been ranked on sanitation parameters.

Haldia and Vizag  ports bagged the first and second ranks respectively, almost all ports have achieved the benchmark for cleanliness or are well above it.

8)Parliament clears landmark HIV AIDS Bill:- The law provides a broad legislative framework for the response to HIV in India and is the first national HIV law in South Asia.

The legislation prohibits discrimination against people living with, and affected by, HIV in a range of settings, including employment, education, housing and health care, as well as with regard to the holding of public or private office, access to insurance and freedom of movement.

 It also bans unfair treatment of people living with and affected by HIV with regard to accessing public facilities, such as shops, restaurants, hotels, public entertainment venues, public facilities and burial grounds

One Important thing to Note is that "as far as Possible"clause which was the bone of contention still remains.

The Bill also prohibits any individual from publishing information or advocating feelings of hatred against HIV positive persons and those living with them.

9)UNICEF seeks help from Islamic bodies to achieve vaccination goal :-

Background:- There is a Huge Distrust because of misinformation in the minority community about the MR(Measels Rubella Vaccine) that the new Vaccine is a conspiracy to make them Sterile.

So What has the UNICEF Done:- To quell the rumours around the measles-rubella vaccine, UNICEF has reached out to Islamic civil society organisations, religious leaders and academia to create trust and address myths around immunisation.

This is the first time the rubella vaccine has been introduced in India’s childhood immunisation programme.(Universal Immunization Program)

MR (measles rubella) vaccine also protects children from measles, a major cause of fatalities in small children.

Rubella, which is commonly referred to as German Measles, is a mild infection, but can have serious consequences if it occurs in pregnant women.

11)New firms to get PAN,TAN in a day- The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has tied up with Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to issue Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Deduction Account Number (TAN) in a day.

Applicant companies should submit a common application form SPICe (INC 32) on MCA portal, and Once the data of incorporation is sent to CBDT by MCA, the PAN and TAN are issued immediately without any further intervention of the applicant.
