1)SC proposes joint trial of Babri cases:-

Background:- Babri Mosque was built in Ayodhya in 1528. The Place where it was built was considered to be the birthplace of Rama (the Hindu Deity).

So Some Hindu extremist groups Demolished the 16th centuryMosque in 1992.

Many Criminal cases were there related to this Dispute which were registered at diferent locations in Allahabad.

So What has the SC Said:- Court will invoke its extraordinary constitutional powers under Article 142 to transfer the pending trial in a Raebareli magistrate court and club it with criminal proceedings in the Lucknow CBI Court against “lakhs of unknown kar sevaks.”

What does the Article 142 says:-



It is a part of Basic Structure Doctrine.

About Babri Masjid:- It was built in 1528–29 CE by Mir Baqi, on orders of the Mughal emperor Babur (after whom it is named).

2)RS also clears 4 GST Bills:-

It is the only tax levied by both the Centre and the States, said Finance Minister.

One more piece of legislation,the State GST Bill, will have to be passed by the legislative
assemblies of States and Union Territories with legislature.

4)A MoU was signed here today between Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) for geotagging of agriculture land:=

What is Geotagging :- Geotagging is the process of adding geographical information to various media(like Photo etc) in the form of metadata.

Advantages and Objectives in this Case?:- Agriculture Minister informed that the space technology needs to be developed in the areas such as:-
land resource mapping, 
pesticides management, 
soil health mapping, 
crop yield estimation as well as the identification and assessment of floods like calamities, 
inland fisheries, 
animal species identification and 
sheep rearing 
and when the technology is developed, the farmers can enjoy quick and instant benefits.

The data usually consists of coordinates like latitude and longitude, but may even include bearing, altitude, distance and place names.

5)Water Management Index :- NITI Aayog has developed a Composite Water Management Index.

The index would provide useful information for the enabling states and departments to formulate and implement suitable strategies for better management of water resources.

6)Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lays foundation stone for Multi-Modal Terminal at Sahibganj :-

Where is Sahibganj := In Jharkhand.

What is the Utility of the Terminal:-The terminal at Sahibganj is an important component of the Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP) for the augmentation of the navigation capacity of National Waterway-1 (Ganga) from Varanasi to Haldia (1390 km).

7)GARV App Upgraded for Monitoring Villages and Households Electrification :-

What is GARV APP:- Grameen Vidyutikaran (GARV) App has been upgraded for monitoring the villages and households electrification in the country.

It will be used under the DDUGJY i.e Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).

8)Aramco eyes stake in refinery:- 

Background:- Bharat Petroleum and HPCL plan to set up a 60 million tonnes a year oil refinery on the west coast to meet the rising fuel needs of India.

Saudi Arabia's Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, is interested in picking up a stake.

    Parliament under Article 368 can amend any part of the constitution including Fundamental Rights but without affecting the basic structure. The supreme court is yet to define the "Basic Structure" but following the judgement of SC these have emerged as the part of Basic Structure.
    1. Power of SC under Art. 32,36,141,142.
    2. Rule of law
    3. Judicial Review
    4. Secular Character
    5. Welfare State or Socio Economic Justice
    6. Parliamentry System
    7. Harmony Between FR & DPSP
    8.Principle of Equality etc...

  2. 2) Can we Amend Preamble ?
    Yess very much but without altering the basic structure contained in the preamble (Like Sovereignty,Socialist,Secular, Democratic, Republic etc. ). Amendment can be made through art. 368
    So far it has been amended once in 1976 by 42 Constitutional Amendment with inclusion of Socialist, Secular & Integrity.

    No Cannot
    Reference can be made to Keshavanand Bharti Case 1973, Minerva Mills Case 1980, & Waman Rao Case 1981
